Hello, I'm Jordan

I enjoy helping people relearn how to play.

I believe in curiosity, silliness, movement, freedom, and authenticity. These principles are at the core of my work and my being.

I believe that bodies are amazing at adapting to whatever environments they’ve been placed in. To try and disregard your environmental and cultural history in therapy is just another way we gaslight ourselves.

Connection is my goal. I believe deeply in the wisdom of human emotion and the complex journey to embody all that we are.

I am in awe of the vast complexities of the human experience and the intricacies of identity.

I believe that grief is a vital part of the human experience and allowing it to move is essential to growth.

I see the wisdom of both our expansions and contractions. With connection and attunement, I hope to help people grow their capacity to welcome all parts of themselves.

More about me

Hi! I’m Jordan. I’m a somatic therapist, a parent, a fantasy novel devotee, and a former athlete. I’ve been working in the therapeutic arts since 2018 and enjoy helping people recover from grief, trauma, and early attachment wounds—experiences that often live on in the body long after the event has passed. My primary treatment modality is Somatic Experiencing, a body-based trauma resolution method that works gently with the nervous system to support regulation, increase resilience, and restore a sense of safety in the body.

I believe healing is a re-learning of how to be in relationship with ourselves, with others, and with our bodies. I don't offer one-size-fits-all solutions. Instead, I offer presence, tools for regulation, and a space where your body and story are honored, not rushed or judged.

Curiosity about how bodies work, move, and hold experience has been a huge part of my life from an early age. As a former athlete and first responder, my early orientation was to override my body for performance. For years, I learned to push through pain, ignore signals, and dissociate from discomfort, all of which were rewarded in athletic culture and necessary for long shifts with the fire department. I used to think this was “embodiment.” It wasn’t until much later that I began to understand the cost of those patterns. That embodied history gives me a unique lens into the lives of athletes and former athletes who are now trying to rebuild a relationship with their bodies that is based on trust, not force. I have a particular interest in working with this population who are learning to listen to their bodies in new ways after years of disconnection or high-demand performance.

I work with adults (18+) and bring a relational, person-centered, and anti-oppressive approach to therapy. I identify as queer and enjoy working with LGBTQIA+ clients. I hold space for the complexity of identity and experience, always aiming to de-pathologize symptoms and instead understand them as adaptive responses to your environment(s).

In my work, I integrate polyvagal theory, somatic attunement, movement, breath, and nervous system regulation with elements from other modalities including Brainspotting, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Embodied Recovery for Eating Disorders, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). I also practice Reiki. The truth is that all of these modalities, like our beautifully complex identities, require nuance, integration, and play in order to figure out what works best for your nervous system.

A sweet new orientation I’ve found delight in over the past year is parenthood; it has so beautifully has helped me delve deeper into my somatic roots. It is such a privilege to watch my child discover the world. He has reminded me daily that humans are born knowing how to breathe with their entire bodies. He finds awe in a leaf, a spoon, or a strand of my hair. He hasn’t yet learned to lock emotion away. His sensory exploration helps him orient and settle, and his body tells him what it needs: to move, to rest, to feel, to connect, to be held. In my eyes, this is the foundation of somatic work. And this is what I hope to support people to come back to: a more intuitive, felt-sense of being.

When I’m not in session, I’m probably near or in the water (my natural element), reading a fantasy novel, playing with my child, or engaging in some form of movement—exercise, swimming, or simply walking and tuning into the world around me. I believe that healing doesn’t require perfection or constant insight. It requires curiosity, safety, and the willingness to keep coming home to yourself.
