Hello, I'm Aurora

I am a life-long student of the natural world who loves liminal spaces & exploring the wilderness both inside & outside.

I approach my somatic work as a relational process that is rooted in reconnection — to body, to intuition, to seasonal rhythms, to community, to the land, to lineage and to the world of dream.

I have always felt comfortable exploring areas that other folks prefer not to see.

I believe that in urgent times slowing down is radical & learning the art of simple pleasure is an act of subversion.

A Bit About My Work

I am a somatic coach & a humble guide in your journey of self-exploration & remembering your wholeness.

In individual sessions I hold space for the unfolding of your innate wisdom by helping you connect more deeply with your body, imagination & intuition.

I love to see folks blossom into their own unique voice, realize their creative capacity, transmute old patterns that have kept them stuck & learn to deeply trust themselves.

In relationship work with couples I combine somatic practices with a beautiful body of practices from the Wheel of Consent. We use play & presence to take us out of common narrative loops & better attune with each other.

I welcome folks from all walks of life and all relationship structures. I’m fluent in supporting the  navigation of non-monogamous relationships.

My work lands best with folks who already have a baseline capacity to notice feelings & sensations & have done some inner work.

A skeptic by nature, I love to bridge the worlds of science & spirituality & help people open up to the sacred in life in a way that feels grounded.

A Little More About Me

I learned to stay calm & track the body while in the belly of a busy emergency department as an ER nurse for eight years.

I learned to connect to the ground, listen to the moon & honor the cycles and seasons with my hands in the Carolina soil during a decade spent farming.

I grew up & am deeply rooted in this place we call North Carolina & I currently live on Sissipahaw land beside the Haw River in Saxapahaw with my partner, my magical cat & many plants & trees.

I believe well-lived grief is the key to deep joy & the capacity to connect with others.

My personal journey has been shaped by much time spent listening in nature including multiple solo wilderness fasts. I’ve studied ecosomatic and ritual practices & have been a psychonaut and a somanaut for over two decades.

This past spring I completed my first dark retreat, an exploration of being alone in total darkness for 3 days and 4 nights.

I love to dance & let my body move in all the weird & wild ways which it desires.

Training, Modalities & Perspective

I’ve studied & explored many modalities including breathwork, Embodied Life, Hakomi, Feldenkrais, Focusing, the Realization Process,  Non-Violent Communication, Bio-Intelligence, Polarity & shadow-work training with the Light Dark Institute.

I’ve completed more in-depth study & certification as follows:

  • BA in Sustainable Development & Global Studies through Appalachian State

  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing through UNC-CH

  • Certified Embodiment Coach

  • Wheel of Consent Facilitator

  • Intimacy Educator Certification with Caffyn Jesse

  • Somatic Psychedelic Facilitator through the Embody Lab

  • Holistic Pelvic Care Practitioner through Wild Feminine

  • Reiki Practitioner through Duke Integrative Medicine

Currently I am deepening my connection to animism & myth through the work of the Mythic Body and beginning my study of Ancestral Lineage Healing. I am also at the start of a journey to become a qigong practitioner.

I believe in weaving together tools to meet people in our wholeness & our messiness.

I consider the siloization of the human experience to be a great limiting factor in the modern approach to health & healing.

I honor that many modern healing modalities are based upon the wisdom that indigenous communities have already known, lived & naturally woven into day-to-day life for millennia.

I offer deep gratitude to all of my teachers, all those that came before & to the land & beings who make my existence possible.

If you've gotten this far I am sure you have a sense of if it would feel resonant to work together!  If you’re curious please reach out to chat!
