Hello, I'm Togor
We are each other's harvest:
we are each other's business:
we are each other’s magnitude and bond
- Gwendlolyn Brooks, Paul Robeson
I believe each person is both garden and gardener, shaped by the conditions around us and capable of tending to our own growth. My hope is that our work nurtures connection, creativity, joy, and a deeper sense of well-being, while making room to participate in the well-being of others. Therapy cannot undo oppression or eliminate all suffering, but it can offer space to name injustice, grieve its impact, and reconnect with what sustains us. I see grief, acceptance, and self-compassion as ongoing rhythms of being human– helping us make meaning amid uncertainty and move through pain without abandoning ourselves.
More about my approach and who I work with
Curiosity, compassion, and respect for the complexity of being human are central to my approach. I work
with folks navigating complex trauma, chronic stress, grief, mood challenges, identity development, and
relationship difficulties. I’m especially interested in how culture, identity, power, history, and environment
shape our experiences of ourselves and the world. I seek to understand not only what has hurt us, but also what has sustained us: the relationships, traditions, communities, and forms of care that help us navigate difficult circumstances.
I integrate relational and experiential practices with skills-based approaches to help you process difficult
experiences, explore patterns and beliefs, develop emotional regulation skills, and reconnect with your
values. Depending on your needs and goals, our work might include EMDR, Brainspotting, Dialectical
Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, ecotherapy, or elements of art and play therapy. My hope is that our work helps you develop greater self-trust, make choices aligned with your values, and cultivate relationships in which you can remain connected to yourself and others. I believe therapy can be purposeful and deeply human, so I aim to make room for contradiction, tenderness, curiosity, creativity, and laughter.
My background
I am a licensed clinical social worker associate. My path to clinical social work began with a Bachelor of
Science in Biochemistry from Charleston Southern University, followed by a Master of Social Work from
Winthrop University.
My professional experience spans community health, community mental health, intensive in-home
services, land-based intensive outpatient care, and advocacy for survivors of sexual trauma. I have
provided individual, group, and family therapy across the lifespan These experiences, alongside my own
background as a Tangale-American, have deepened my appreciation for the many ways people and
communities cultivate care and healing.
I am certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I have training in Eye Movement Desensitization
and Reprocessing (EMDR), Brainspotting, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy,
Relational Psychodynamic Therapy, and Eco-Social Systemic Family Therapy. I am currently completing
ecotherapy certification. I tailor these approaches to each person's needs, remaining open to what may be
useful rather than assuming one method fits everyone.
